EXPRESSIVE ARTS THERAPY
Many people ask, "What is Expressive Arts Therapy?". Like Talk Therapy creativity is another tool that can create growth and healing. Think about a time where maybe you were in a bad mood and you started to listen to music and you experienced change. Or maybe you wrote a letter, journaled or wrote a poem and learned something new. Maybe you went to a comedy show, or laughed from contagious laughter with a friend. Perhaps you made a drawing, collaged, or simply went to a museum and were deeply impact by a piece of art you saw. This is not about the product or performance, but rather how creativity can change us, shift our perspective, or help us "drop down" to a deeper understanding of a problem we are experienceing. It's the process of "un-stucking" the stuckness. This is our neurobiology. Our wiring and chemistry can change through creative engagement or expression.
